23 cover sets

Hello!  Didn't expect to update so soon, but I went on another cover making binge this weekend so here I am.  A lot of these are similar in terms of color scheme and/or typography, so I've grouped them into different sets.

Set 1:  "Anatomical" theme

These were partially made for practice, as it's been a while since I've done irl graphics.  However, I got the idea for these after rewatching Teshigahara's Woman of the Dunes.  The cinematography left such an impression on me when I first saw it -- one of the best examples of film being translated over to a tangible experience tbh.

The movie utilizes a lot of close-up shots of the shifting sand grains & the actors' bodies to create an unnerving/claustrophobic feel.  I mainly took inspo from that, tried to keep everything simple as possible.

I also tried an alternative version for Chimayoi, warping the text to make it look like it was imprinted onto the model's body.

Set 2:  Experimental anime set

So this one was inspired from the Shin Godzilla promo poster -- namely the clawed "monster" hand contrasted with the simple red backdrop.  I wanted to play around with a movie poster-inspired design without expending much effort on renders or overlays, and since Chimayoi features a lot of characters from Wano (One Piece equivalent of feudal era Japan), I used artwork from Vagabond to contrast with the bottom half (representing the "youkai" / madness).

Again, it's very simple and the typography does most of the heavy lifting, I think.  But I really liked the contrast between the monochrome & the vibrant red.

I also made another version which overlays a screencap of Law in the bottom half + part of the text and honestly... I really love how it turned out lol.  Both in terms of how it looks, but also the symbolism :3

Like the past set, these were intended to be for practice. But this set turned out so well that I'm honestly really tempted to use these-

Set 3:  Conventional anime set

Finally, I created more "conventional" character-centric covers for Miseria, Chimayoi, and Skeleton Key.  I kept with the same general color scheme / filters for them all to maintain a sense of cohesion.

I'm satisfied with how they all turned out, but I think my favorite is Skeleton Key despite it looking the busiest with the overlays.
